Author bio: Carl Russo is a San Francisco Bay Area native who has written for the Oakland Tribune, Indiewire and other publications. Russo fell in love with Sicily on his first trip to the island in 1999 and has returned many times since. In 2010, he began a blog, Mafia Exposed, which became the basis for his book.
Russo was also a radio producer and disc jockey at KUSF-FM, San Francisco, from 1990 to 2003. The self-described cinema freak made a comic short in 2005 called Baby Pepper, which screened at 48 film festivals in 13 countries.

Author, retired Colonel Richard Hobbs is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. Selected as an original Olmsted Scholar, Hobbs received the degree of Docteur de l’Université in international law and international relations from the University of Lyon in France.
He spent two tours of duty in Vietnam advising Vietnamese paratroopers and serving as Executive to the Deputy Commander in Vietnam, managing a large fire base, commanding the 2nd Battalion, 28th Infantry, and advising a Vietnamese regiment. Hobbs was an Army Research Associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington. He has served in the Pentagon and with the Department of State as PoliticoMilitary Advisor in the Bureau of Near Eastern and South Asian Affairs.
After retiring from the Army as a colonel after 27 years, he joined Teledyne, where his positions included Vice President - International. He established his own consultant firm, Service International Ltd., for international business development. Colonel Hobbs has taught courses in international politics and international conflict at the University of Nevada at Reno. Colonel Hobbs also has served as Assistant Professor of International Relations on the faculty of the Department of Social Sciences at West Point.

Bob Inglis serves as the Executive Director of the Energy and Enterprise Initiative (E&EI), based at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia (http://energyandenterprise.com). Inglis founded and launched E&EI, which organization seeks to solve America's energy and climate challenges by utilizing the conservative principles of free enterprise and economic growth, accountability and reasonable risk avoidance, liberty, and limited government. Before founding E&EI, Inglis represented South Carolina’s Fourth Congressional District (Greenville, Spartanburg, Union counties) for 12 years in the U.S. House of Representatives. Inglis earned a degree in political science from Duke University in 1981. He graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1984 and later moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where he practiced commercial real estate law prior to and between his years in Congress.
